Traction car lift is the oldest and the most versatile type of lift. This lift basically consist of cabin and a counterweight attached to separate ends of a cable which travel over a large pulley (wheel called a Sheave) at the top of the lift shafts. When the lift goes up, the counter weight goes down and vice versa.
